Headlining this much anticipated festival include multi-platinum rock/metal acts Slipknot and Disturbed. Additionally, the main stage features Dragonforce, and
Mastodon. The festival hits San Antonio on July 26th at Verizon Wirless Amphitheater.

This first annual festival will also have the Jagermeister Second Stage with Machine Head, Airborne, Five Finger Death Punch and Walls of Jericho. Housed in a 44-foot trailer that opens into a fully self-contained stage measuring 34 feet wide, 16 feet deep and 20 feet high, the
Jagermeister Mobile Stage showcases the latest audio innovations from Peavey Electronics. This is probably the strongest collection of amazing metal and hard rock bands I've ever seen", adds drummer Patrick Swift. "It's a total honor to be part of this event and I'll be front and center when
Slipknot and Disturbed hit the stage, not to mention Dragonforce!"

For more information, please visit Powderburns's website at www.powderburn.net, as well
as www.jagermusic.com and www.mayhemfest.com.

Powderburn invited to play Alamo Drafthouse after party in Austin

The MONSTER ROCK Sing-Along
(Article from: www.originalalamo.com)

Rated Unknown
Location: Alamo Downtown

This show is a part of the Sing-Along Extravaganzas Signature Series, Click to See More

We've celebrated hair metal before, in our annual LOVE BITES Power Ballad Sing-
Alongs, but sometimes you want to do more than slow dance. Sometimes, you want
to ROCK. And this summer, that's exactly what we're fucking gonna do. We're not
gonna take it anymore, because god gave rock and roll to us and now we're going
to shake you all night long. So yeah, we've got the big hair and bigger make up
of Twisted Sister and KISS. We've got the spandex of Van Halen and Poison. And
we'll bring back more favorites from the Love Bites show, too, because "November
Rain" isn't the only song by Guns 'N Roses. Oh, and AC/DC. Lots and lots of
AC/DC. Plus, even though we've already used this gimmick for the BILL & TED
QUOTE-ALONG, we'll be giving everyone their very own inflatable guitar when they
sit down, just so we can all have something to smash against the stage when
we're too overcome by the power of our own mystical rocking.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL. This Thursday, June 19, the rocking will continue with a
free show at the Beast House, just two blocks down 6th Street from the Ritz,
with the official Monster Rock After Party, featuring DJ Jefe spinning rock and
metal, and live rock with Thunderose and Powderburn.

Kid Policy: 18 and up; Children 6 and up will be allowed only
with a parent or guardian. No children under the age of 6 will be allowed.

Screenings (click on a show time to buy tickets):

Thursday, June 19, 2008

9:20p

Powderburn fans: You may purchase tickets to the event using the link above. The band is fortunate to have a sponsorship from the hallowed beverage of choice for metalheads everywhere, and JAGER is bringing the metal to Texas yet again.

POWDERBURN is pleased to announce that the band has two dates on this year's JAGERMEISTER MUSIC TOUR - May 28th and 29th with HATEBREED and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD. The 28th show will also feature fellow east coast natives, TYPE O NEGATIVE.

"Needless to say, this may be one of my favorite Jager tours yet!", says drummer Patrick Swift, "HATEBREED are legends of the scene and I've been a fan of TYPE O NEGATIVE since I first picked up drumsticks . . . this one's gonna be trouble!"

"It's always fun to play on a tour that features diverse bands. I've seen Hatebreed and Type O countless times and they both put on great, yet, vastly different shows. I think Powderburn will fit quite nicely, in our own way, among these bands" added singer/guitarist Ken Lockman.

May 28th, the band joins the JAGERMEISTER MUSIC TOUR in San Antonio at Sunset Station, and then makes the journey to El Paso for the show on the 29th at Club 101. POWDERBURN leaves the tour at that point, but will be swinging through Lubbock to play a headlining show on the way home, to be held at the Lone Star Events Center on May 30th.

For more info on the tour itself, go to www.jagermeistermusictour.com.
For more information about POWDERBURN, go to
www.powderburn.net or www.myspace.com/powderburn

Powderburn to play KLBJ’s (93.7) Local Licks Live

Powderburn to play KLBJ’s (93.7) Local Licks Live
Story from KLBJFM.COM

IT’S BACK! However also during this week another festival has been taking place for years as well. The Heart of Texas Rock Fest has been home to Austin-based metal band POWDERBURN for five years running, and this year is no exception!

As has become tradition, POWDERBURN will be headlining the Dimebag Darrell Memorial Metal night at Spill Bar on Wednesday the 12th at 1am. "This night is always a showcase for some of the finest the metal scene of Austin has to offer", says drummer Patrick Swift, "and we're proud to be associated with a night dedicated to the legend of our scene - so come on down and getcha pull!"

The band will be taking in the sights and sounds of the festival during the rest of the week, and return to the stage to headline not one more show, but both Friday and Saturday night. In addition Powderburn will also be playing the outdoor "Guitar Hero" stage on Thursday at 3:30pm. Friday's show marks POWDERBURN's return to their new home venue, the Rock City Icehouse in the Lincoln Village, and Saturday night brings the band to Merkaba, in Pflugerville, to close out another great night of music.

Singer/guitarist Ken Lockman said: "We love Texas Rockfest because every year they invite tons of unsigned rock and metal bands from all over the country and fans can see them all for free! No wristband, no cover charge.....just free."

For more info on the festival, as well as the complete schedule featuring over 150 band, check out the official website at:

www.texasrockfest.com

Big hometown show annoucement

Powderburn's first official hometown show of 2008 will take place on Saturday, February 23rd at Rock City Icehouse in Austin, TX. This show will be the first to display the amazing talents of the new lead guitar player, Eric Smith. The band will also debut some brand new songs and will have a new tshirt design or two for sale to celebrate this event. Tickets for this all ages event are available online for $8 and $10 at the door day of show. Powderburn will be joined by fellow Austin heavyweights, Bangladesh, with more bands to be announced soon!

What/Where is Rock City Icehouse? Rock City Icehouse is a brand new rock club that opened at the beginning of February and has the potential to make a lasting impression on the Music Capitol of the world.

Singer Ken Lockman stated, "The second I walked into this club I felt at home. The place is laid out great, the stage is huge, the sound is perfect, there's plenty of free parking and wait until you see the barstools! I'm very excited about the 23rd. We're planning to put on one hell of a show. Rock City Icehouse could very well be the new Backroom". The Backroom was a legendary rock club in Austin for over 30 years that Powderburn performed at regularly and sadly closed it's doors in 2006.

Rock City Icehouse is convientely located by the Highland Mall in Lincoln Center. (On the access road of IH-35) For the exact address visit them online at:: www.myspace.com/rockcityicehouse or http://www.rockcityicehouse.com/

View the flyer:

POWDERBURN RELEASES A NEW SONG FOR FREE!

POWDERBURN RELEASES A NEW SONG FOR FREE

(January 7, 2008 - Austin, TX)

Riding on the heels of the announcement of a new lead guitarist, which opens a new chapter for Texas-based metal band POWDERBURN, comes another that symbolizes the end of an era.

Previous to his departure, former lead guitarist Josh Klayman participated in a writing and recording session with noted local producer Paul Soroski which concluded with four songs recorded at Walrus Studios. As POWDERBURN is on a short hiatus from shows to get Eric Smith ready for the road, the band has decided to release one of the previously-recorded tracks for free. The track is called "One by One".
Vocalist/Guitarist Ken Lockman stated "One by One has a slightly different vibe to it then some of our previous songs. It's still very much Powderburn but we added a little punk rock spice. One thing i can say for sure is that i that i won't be singing this song when i'm 60 years old...not without some serious oxygen tanks."

The song contains Josh's original guitar parts intact as a farewell to a friend, and as a bonus to the fans that have to wait a little longer for POWDERBURN to play in 2008.

The mp3 can be downloaded for free at:
www.reverbnation.com/powderburn

POWDERBURN ANNOUNCES NEW GUITARIST

POWDERBURN ANNOUNCES NEW GUITARIST
(January 2nd, 2008 Austin, Texas)

After several months of reviewing candidates and weighing options, Powderburn is pleased to announce that the search for a new lead guitarist has ended. The band wishes to welcome Eric Smith, a Houston native formerly of Swinging Teresa, Pinhed, and Epic, to the fold and hopes that all our fans and friends will join us in doing the same.

Eric brings a new style and energy to the band, and serious soloist chops as well, and is looking forward to display them at the soon-to-be announced Powderburn comeback show in Austin. When asked to comment, he simply said "Live fast, play loud, and fuckin' SLAYER!". Grammatically challenged as he may be, rest assured the man can seriously rock a guitar.

Powderburn will be taking an undisclosed period of time off from touring and recording to acclimate Eric to the band, and write a series of new songs for an upcoming full-length release. "The writing sessions have already begun", says drummer Patrick Swift, " and I cannot believe how ridiculously well the new songs are coming out. We're getting heavier and faster - we just needed some new blood to get things heavy again!"

Be sure to check back to www.powderburn.net often for the announcement of the band's comeback show, and for everything you ever wanted to know about Eric. A bio page and a link to his MySpace will be added to the site in due course. The band will also soon be releasing a new song in an internet-only form from the last recording sessions with Josh Klayman. As soon as the technical end is sorted out, Powderburn will be announcing the release of "One By One" on the website. I know every band that hates each other always says "it's mutual and we all still love each other, blah blah blah". Powderburn is like a big Mafia family - once you're in, you're in. Don't be surprised if you see Josh behind the soundboard or jamming a song onstage once in awhile, just like Joel Reyes (we can't get rid of him either, he's like herpes, but herpes that can play drums well, heh). But seriously, the Homegrown show is an ending of sorts, but don't be too sad for Josh. He's got a whole different career that he is VERY good at to look forward to, and he'll still be around, begging you to buy his poor ass a crown and coke.

Secondly, and very importantly - let me assure you of this in a large font so you know I'm serious - POWDERBURN IS NOT BREAKING UP! We have had some advance notice of Josh's wishes for some time, and we've been going through the process of auditioning guitarists not only to find someone who can play well, but will fit right into this crazy family we have going on. We will have some news on that front in the very near future, so keep checking back.

We thank everyone who commented and wished Josh well. I know it means a lot to him, and it definitely means a lot to us that so many of you care. So, rock on, we'll see you on the 5th, and we will have a lot to celebrate about in '08! Later!

- Patrick

POWDERBURN PARTS WAYS WITH GUITARIST

POWDERBURN PARTS WAYS WITH GUITARIST
(December 3rd, 2007)

It is with a heavy heart that Powderburn makes the following announcement - lead guitarist Josh Klayman is parting ways with the band. The following is a personal note from Josh to the fans that have supported the band that he helped create many years ago:

Hey everyone, I just wanna let you all know that the 5th of December will be my final show with Powderburn at the Red Eyed Fly. It's been almost 9 years since I started this thing and its been awesome. However, I fit into this industry on the production side of things as well as the performance side and I'd like to give some other avenues a try that I don't have time to do while in Powderburn. I will still be playing live with most likely a couple bands so I'll keep everyone posted on where to catch me live in 2008! I really wanna thank everyone who ever came and saw us, bought me a beer, sang a song with me onstage, bought a cd or shirt, and basically everyone who helped us in any way.

See you on the 5th!!!

Josh

The remaining members of Powderburn, Greg Enkler, Ken Lockman, and Patrick Swift stated the following. "Learning that Josh wanted to leave was a hard thing to understand but over the last few months we've spent numerous hours talking about this and while it's still extremely sad to see him go, we all believe it's for the best thing for everyone. One thing all 4 of us have always agreed on is that things happen for a reason and we believe this change is no exception. It goes without saying though that whoever replaces him with have some big shoes to fill, both musically and personally."

As Josh stated the final Powderburn show with him in the lead guitar role will be the 101X Homegrown show at the Red Eyed Fly in Austin, Texas, on December 5th. The band will play at 11:30 and it's $5 to get in. The title track and Here and After have made their presence known on the band's website, along with social networking sites like MySpace, Fuzz, and Virb.

Now, the band has just released its first foray into the concept video. In conjunction with the innovative Austin production company Mercenary Mediums, the video for Perfect Line is now available on the band's website, in the download section, and a lower quality version on is available on YouTube.com. The song itself is now also available to hear on the band's myspace page.

"The video for this song is deliberately weird and obtuse", says drummer Patrick Swift, "We wanted a very open-ended idea because we always prefer someone to get their own ideas from what we create. It makes it belong to everyone that way, as opposed to just our own egos".

The video release precludes a much-anticipated trip to the Big Apple - New York City. The band is performing a showcase at Crash Mansion, a club in the infamous Greenwich Village. The show is all ages and the band performs at 10pm.

For more information on the show or the latest news, go to: www.powderburn.net
www.myspace.com/powderburn

Powderburn to play in NYC on 9/27/07

It's official! The band based in Texas, yet composed mainly of members from NY/NJ, are finally returning home to play a show @ Crash Mansion on Thursday, September 27th.

As most of you know we've been playing in the south, mainly in TX, for many years now so needless to say we're excited to show NY what we've been crafting all this time....not to mention we're going to consume an illegal amount of pizza.

We fully expect all of our friends, fans, family, baby mommas, homeless people we've given money to, and acquaintances, to be in attendance or we reserve the right to no longer count you as friends, fans, family or homeless. :) We know that not all of you live near the city. But seriously, do whatever you need to do to get there. We've been working like crazy and this show is very important to us on many many levels....take my word for it. So call out sick, skip school, find babysitters (although the show is all ages :), car pool, run a lemonade stand to raise money, and enjoy a nice trip to the city with friends in the fall of 2007 to drink free liquor and witness a band that's 10x better live than on CD. Did I mention we're traveling 28 hours to get there?!

Here's all the details!

Show Time: Thursday September 27, 2007 - 8:00 PM
Venue Name: Crash Mansion
Address: 199 Bowery
City: New York
State: New York
Country: US
Zip Code: 10002
Cost: $10 over 21 $15 under 21

Description:
Free whiskey from 8pm-9pm

Powderburn hits the stage at 10pm

All Ages Welcome!
$10 over 21
$15 under 21

Crash Mansion
199 Bowery
New York, NY 10002
(212) 982-7767
http://www.crashmansion.com/

Powderburn to play ME Television's Pajama Party

Powderburn to play ME Television's Pajama Party

(August 27th, 2007) - The Austin, Texas-based band Powderburn are veterans of every kind of show there is, and now they can add a fashion show to the list. The shows are Tuesday, April 17, at the Palladium in Dallas, and Wednesday, April 18th, at Sunset Station in San Antonio.

Also sharing the stage will be metal artists Lacuna Coil and Shadow’s Fall, who will be trading slots throughout the length of the tour. The band has been touring regionally in support of their latest release, "Echoed in Red", a six-track EP/DVD.

For more info on the Jagermeister shows check out:
www.jagermeistermusictour.com

For more info on Powderburn check out:
www.powderburn.net or www.myspace.com/powderburn

Powderburn wins "Best Metal Band" for the 4th time

Powderburn Wins 4th Austin Music Award

Austin, Texas (March 18th, 2007) - Hard rock artist POWDERBURN is pleased to announce that the band has won Best Metal Band in their native Austin's annual Music Awards event for the fourth time.

The Austin Music Awards are held every year on March 15th, to coincide with the start of the world-famous South By Southwest Festival, a four-day event that brings bands, industry people, filmmakers, and thousands of fans from all corners of the world into Austin to celebrate music, art, and films of every genre.

With so much focus on out-of-town bands during South By Southwest, the Austin Music Awards are Austin's way of putting the spotlight on native bands, and POWDERBURN was in the spotlight again, accepting the first award of the night for Best Metal Band. Powder Burn gets you started with the title track "Echoed in Red", it contains an enormous catchy drive. All of the songs are quite lyrics orientated and some of them do remind me of Linkin Park, when it comes to the explosive energy. There are even some moments on Echoed in Red that make the 80s hardrock come alive for a short while.

The guitar playing is overall quite indestructible , but it has it's lush moments also. These lush moments make Echoed in Red a well balanced album for those who like to hear instruments being "tortured" on one hand and on the other hand also like to hear exceptionally refreshing sounds from the guitars and percussion.

All the songs are written before there were lyrics, except the song "Oceans" where the lyrics came first. The intro of "Oceans" is kind of a short break, what seems to be a resting point on the cd, but in fact it's a prelude to another outrageous outburst, I think it has something to do with the story behind the lyrics. Well just watch the DVD and you'll know what I mean ;-)

Though there are no keyboards credited on Echoed in Red there is a marvelous intro on "Here and After" something that asks for more.....

:-)
